Catawba County Schools Superintendent Dr. Matt Stover announced a new principal appointment for the upcoming school year. Dr. Rene Spry was named Principal of Challenger Early College High School, effective July 1, 2023. The school board confirmed the position on Monday night.
A cohort of Catawba County School’s employees recently completed the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy. The program is a twelve-week intensive course designed to familiarize citizens with the function, philosophies, internal policies, and guiding principles of the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office.
NEWTON, May 12, 2023 – Amy Phillips, School Nurse at Oxford and Webb A. Murray Elementary Schools, was recently named the recipient of the Jo Ann Spees Youth Advocacy Award, presented by the Catawba County Council on Adolescents at a breakfast ceremony.
