The Catawba County Board of Education is holding a regular board meeting on Monday, September 25, 2023.
NEWTON, September 5, 2023 --State test results from the 2022-23 school year presented to the State Board of Education show that North Carolina students continued to recover ground lost to the COVID pandemic, with gains across virtually all grades, subjects, and student subgroups. Catawba County Schools performs well, shows increases in growth and proficiency.

Catawba County Schools Superintendent Dr. Matt Stover announced the appointment of two new directors--Director of Elementary Education and Director of Transportation. The school board confirmed these positions at Monday night's regular Board of Education meeting.
The Catawba County Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on November 27, 2023,
beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the boardroom.
On Friday, November 18th, 2023, Catawba County Schools had the pleasure of hosting Mark Reed, Managing Director of the John M. Belk Endowment. This visit provided a valuable opportunity for our district to showcase its schools and programs, highlighting our commitment to educational growth.
CATAWBA COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION WILL HOLD A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING AT 6:00 P.M. ON NOVEMBER 20, 2023, FOR THE PURPOSE OF A HEARING ON CHALLENGED BOOKS (Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer). Public directives are in place for this special-called meeting.
The National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) recently announced its Best of High School Press awards, and we are proud to share the remarkable achievements of two of our very own students from Fred T. Foard High School within the Catawba County Schools district.

The public is cordially invited to join St. Stephens High School for a "Renovation Celebration" on Friday, October 20th, starting at 9:00 AM.
Architectural and Planning firms with interest in the submission of a proposal for Facilities Assessment Study are invited to submit a bid by October 30, 2023.
Amy Phillips, RN, has been named School Nurse of the Year by the School Nurse Association of North Carolina. She was recognized at the Catawba County Board of Education meeting on September 25.
